Photographs taken on The Stade fishing beach, Hastings. I have been photographing here for over a decade, and in that time its uniqueness has become blunted by my familiarity with every inch of it. I decided to start from scratch, and attempt to capture some of its fleeting moments, objects and juxtapositions which disappear almost as quickly as they arrive. This place has been a working beach for 1000 years, but what gives it its photographic resonance is precisely the transience of so much of what happens here.
